How to combine PDFs into one document

Merge several PDFs into one file in the right order, and what to check before sending it.

When merging helps

Application portals, landlords, employers and accountants often ask for a single file. Merging lets you send one tidy document — for example an ID scan, proof of address and a signed form — instead of several attachments that might be opened in the wrong order or missed.

Step by step

Open Merge PDF and add at least two files. You can add up to 20 files, with a combined total of up to 200 pages.

Arrange the files with the arrows. They are joined top to bottom exactly as listed, so put a cover page or index first.

Click Merge PDFs and download the result. Open it once and scroll through to confirm the order before you send it.

What is preserved

Merging copies pages exactly as they are. Nothing is re-rendered, so text stays selectable and image quality is unchanged.

Bookmarks from the original files are not carried into the merged document. If a file is password-protected, remove the password in the app that created it before merging.

If the result is too large

Combining scans quickly adds up. If the merged file exceeds an upload or email limit, run it through Compress PDF — the result page offers it as the next step, without re-uploading.
